Prepare for the November 2026 General Nursing Council examination with 50 original, challenging Paper I practice questions. Test clinical judgement, prioritisation, physiology and medication calculations under timed conditions, then study the answer explanations.
Paper I: The 50-question challenge
November 2026 preparation · Clinical reasoning · Calculations
50 questions. 50 minutes. One best answer per question. Choose the safest, most appropriate response to the exact scenario. Work without notes on your first attempt. Use the question navigator to revisit unanswered or flagged questions.
Each correct answer earns 1 mark. Incorrect and unanswered questions earn 0. There is no negative marking. Answers and explanations appear after submission. The test automatically submits when time runs out.
Independent practice, not an official NMCN paper. These are original educational questions, not leaked, recalled or predicted November exam questions. The 50-minute duration and subject allocation are Mini Nurses practice settings, not a verified November 2026 examination blueprint. Follow your school and NMCN notices for the official format and timetable.
The subject selection follows the publicly available General Nursing Curriculum’s Paper I coverage. Clinical explanations also draw on the guidance linked below. This educational exercise does not replace clinical protocols or supervised practice.

Coverage, sources and revision guidance
Practice allocation: anatomy and physiology 6; foundations and infection prevention 9; medical–surgical nursing 14; pharmacology and calculations 9; nutrition and dietetics 5; primary/community health 4; management and teaching 3. This allocation is editorial, not an official NMCN weighting.
After the test, review each missed question, explain why the alternatives are less suitable, and revise your weakest subjects before retrying. Repeating the same items tests recall as well as understanding, so a higher repeat score is not a prediction of council performance.
